Oscar E. Marrero has been practicing law for approximately 30 years and has developed a diverse litigation practice. He has a state court trial practice focused on wrongful death and personal injury cases. This includes experience representing corporations in automobile collision cases, business owners in negligent security, shooting or assault cases, contractors in road construction, electrocution, and other accident cases. Furthermore, Oscar has also represented various local hospitals and healthcare providers in medical malpractice cases.
Mr. Marrero has a federal court litigation practice concentrating on defending governmental entities and employees in Title VII and Section 1983 cases. His clients have included universities, elected officials, a significant number of municipalities in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties, and state agencies. He handles complex constitutional tort cases with multi-million dollar exposures and media interest. These include Fourth Amendment police excessive force and false arrest matters. He has also defended many First Amendment employee terminations, liberty interest and Eighth Amendment claims. Oscar E. Born in Havana, Cuba, Oscar E. Marrero earned his Bachelor’s Degree, Cum Laude, in Business Administration from the University of Miami. He graduated from the University of Florida Law School in 1983 with a Juris Doctor degree. Following graduation from law school, Oscar served as a Felony Division Chief in the Dade County State Attorney’s Office and prosecuted homicide cases.
